Edit text in PDF
Find a word or phrase and replace it where it stands on the page.
About Edit text in PDF
This tool finds a word or phrase on the page, covers it with the colour of the background around it, and writes the new text in the same place, size and colour.
- What you add
- One PDF file with selectable text.
- What you get
- One PDF with the matches replaced, and a count of replacements.
How to use it
- Add your PDF.
- Type the text to find and its replacement.
- Choose the matching options and pages, then start.
- Download the edited PDF and check it.
Settings
- Find and replace with; leave the replacement empty to just remove the text.
- Match upper and lower case, and whole words only.
- Really remove the old text: on by default; changed pages become images with a hidden text layer.
- Resolution (dpi) of the changed pages, pages and most replacements.
Good to know
- This is an edit drawn over the page, not a retyping of the document: the new text uses a standard font, which may differ from the original.
- If you turn off Really remove the old text, the old words stay in the file under the cover and can still be copied.
- Scanned pages have no text to find; run Make PDF searchable (OCR) first.
Your files are processed only for this operation and deleted when it finishes. No one at Tools War can view what you upload.
